Elastic shirring thread.
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE
CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR,
THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.
ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150
cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and
symmetric pieces).
WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE
MATCHING!
CUTTING:
Fabric:
1. Shoulder strap – 2 pieces
2. Lath – 2 folded pieces
3. Back – 2 pieces
4. Side front – 2 pieces
5. Centre
front – 2 pieces
6. Side cup – 2 pieces
7. Centre
cup – 2 pieces
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut the
centre front pieces with each edge for 5 cm bigger then the
pattern is. Place
the elastic shirring thread on
the garment. Zigzag stitch
over the elastic on the wrong side, pull up the elastic to
gather the fabric.
Knot securely. Cut the centre front pieces according to
the pattern.
2. Stitch the side/centre front pieces together.
3.
Stitch the side/centre cup edges. Topstitch the
seams. Stitch the cups to the front. Fold the cup top edges to the wrong side
folding the raw edge under and topstitch them. Fold the hem seam allowance to
the wrong side and stitch it.
4.
Stitch the laths to the centre front. Fold the laths
in half lengthways inside out and stitch the short edges. Turn them right side
out, fold the raw edge inside and topstitch to the garment through the
previously made seam. Topstitch the laths. Make buttonholes in the right one. Attach the buttons to the left.
6. Make
up the shoulder straps, topstitch them and stitch to the front top edge, try
the corsage on checking the length of the straps. Fix the straps to the back.
