5555 SKIRT WITH GUIPURE INSET

 

YOU NEED: natural/mixed fabric; guipure; fusing; zipper.

 

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

 

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm for all seams, 3 cm for hem.

 

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

 

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

 

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Center front skirt – 1 piece

2. Side front skirt – 2 pieces

3. Front yoke – 1 piece

4. Front facing – 1 piece

5. Center back skirt – 2 pieces

6. Side back skirt – 2 pieces

7. Back yoke – 2 pieces

8. Back facing – 2 pieces

Guipure:

1. Side front skirt – 2 pieces

2. Side back skirt – 2 pieces

 

Fusing: front facing, back facing.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Apply the fusing to wrong side of front/back facings.

 

2. Tack guipure piece to side front skirt. Stitch front relieves, neaten seams and press them frontward.

 

3. Tack guipure piece to side back skirt. Stitch back relieves, neaten seams and press them towards back center.

 

4. Stitch front yoke to front skirt. Press joining seam toward the yoke.

 

5. Stitch back yoke to back skirt. Press joining seam towards the yoke.

 

6. Neaten skirt’s middle edge. Stitch middle edge between closure notch and the hem. Press middle edge apart, press closure slit. Stitch the zipper in.

 

7. Neaten side edges. Stitch side front/back seams and press them apart.

 

8. Stitch facings’ side edges and press them apart. Neaten facings’ outer edges.

 

9. Lay facings on skirt’s upper edge right sides together, then overstitch. Topstitch overstitching on doubled yokes at 0.2 cm from overstitching. Fold facings into wrong side and press overstitched upper edge of the skirt. Fold middle edges of back facings under and sew them to zipper. Topstitch neatened edge of facings on the seam joining yokes. Remove tacking.

 

10. Neaten the hem, fold it under and topstitch.
