5561 DRESS WITH FLOUNCES

YOU NEED: natural/mixed fabric; concealed zip of 25 cm length; piping.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.

SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1 cm for all seams.

ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).

WHEN SEWING, BE CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!

CUTTING:

Fabric:

1. Right back part – 1 piece

2. Left back part – 1 piece

3. Front part – 1 piece

4. Back flounce – 1 piece

5. Right front flounce – 1 piece

6. Left front flounce – 1 piece

7. Frill – 4 pieces

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Stitch bust darts, press darts downwards.

2. Stitch waist front/back darts. Press front darts toward front center, press back darts toward back center.

3. Neaten middle edge of front right/left flounce. Press neatened edge into wrong side and topstitch at 0.5 cm from edge. Lay flounces one on another (in accordance with notches) and fix upper edge of flounces between notches.

4. Stitch front flounce to front part, neaten joining seam and press it frontward.

5. Neaten middle back edge. Stitch middle back seam between hem and closure notch. Press middle back seam pressing closure slit.

6. Stitch flounce to back part, neaten joining seam and press it backwards.

7. Stitch front/back parts’ side edges. Stitch side seams and press them backwards.

8. Stitch side edges of frills, neaten the seam and press it. Neaten frill’s outer/side edges with roll seam.

9. Put the dress on, adjust frill’s length and measure shoulder-straps length. Tack the frill to front/back neckline in according to the sketch.

10. Press the piping along the center. Sew the piping to front/back armholes. Sew the piping to back/front neckline and frill’s inner edge. Stitch the strap of piping’s rest and stitch it to back part.

11. Stitch the zipper in.

12. Neaten flounces’ lower edge, press them and topstitch at 0.5 cm from the edge.
