SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1.5 cm for hem and middle front edge,
1 cm for other seams.
NB!
Before sewing, print paper patterns and lay them out according to the linen
width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material you need (do not forget
about double and symmetric details).
WHEN SEWING, BE
CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!
CUTTING:
Fabric:
1. Center back part – 2 pieces
2. Side back part – 2 pieces
3. Center front part – 2 pieces
4. Side front part – 2 pieces
5. Front facing – 4 pieces
6. Back facing – 4 pieces
7. Strap – 4 pieces
Chiffon:
1. Upper back part – 2 pieces
2. Upper front part – 2 pieces
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Apply the fusing to wrong
side of 2 front/back facings and 2 straps.
2. Stitch back darts and
press them toward the center. Stitch shoulder edge of front/back parts. Stitch
side seam of upper back/front parts. Neaten seams and press them backwards.
Neaten armholes, fold edges under and topstitch at 0.5 cm from edges. Neaten
upper back part’s middle edge, fold it under and topstitch at 0.5 cm.

Overstitch the strap on inner side; do closure allowance. Slash the seam, turn
the strap right side out and press it.
4. Stitch
the strap’s right side to upper back/front parts coinciding notches. Press the
seam toward the strap. Fold strap seam on wrong side and topstitch it along
joining seam. Press seams.
5. Stitch
back/front facings together along side edges. Press the seam apart. Lay facings
right sides together, insert the strap so that its doubled side was on facing’s
doubled side. Overstitch details along two edges: front facing’s short edge and
along facings’ upper edges. Turn the seam right side out and press it.
6. Stitch
front/back relieves. Neaten and press them towards the center.
7. Neaten
middle front edge. Stitch middle front seam between notches. Press the seam
apart pressing slits.
8. Stitch
side edges. Neaten seams and press them backwards.
9. Stitch
facing’s right side to dress upper edge. Press the seam towards the facing.
Stitch middle back seam up to closure notch. Press the seam apart pressing
slits. Stitch the zipper into middle back seam. The zipper reaches facing’s
upper edge.
10. Fold
facing’s open edge under and stitch to closure slit’ edges. Press the seam.
11. Neaten
dress hem, fold it under and topstitch at 1.5 cm from lower edge.
12. Make a
button into the strap. Sew the button.
