YOU NEED: middle/high stretchable jersey (natural or mixed).
IF THE PATTERNS
HAVE DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED,
IF THE PATTERNS
HAVE SINGLE CONTOUR, THE SEAM ALLOWANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.
SEAM ALLOWANCES: 1.5 cm for the hem, 1 cm for other
seams.
ATTENTION! Before sewing, print paper patterns and lays them out
according to the linen width (from 90 to 150 cm) to find out how much material
you need (do not forget about double and symmetric details).
WHEN SEWING, BE
CAREFUL WITH NOTCHES – THEY MUST BE COINCIDING!
CUTTING:
Fabric:
1. Back part – 1 piece
2. Lower front part – 1 piece
3. Upper front part – 1 piece
4. Front placket – 4 pieces
5. Sleeve – 2 pieces
OUR ADVICE: stitch jersey details with
special elastic/zig-zag stitches. If you use an overlock, cut seam allowances
till 0.6-0.8 cm width. Topstitch hem allowances with double needle to save
elasticity.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Slash seam allowances into upper front part’s lower
edge, at notches. Neaten upper front part’s upper edge and the edge between
notches. Press allowances into wrong side and topstitch them.
2. Lay front plackets right sides together and insert
upper front part between them. Stitch plackets and upper front part together.
The seam goes between side edge and shoulder edge. Press plackets into right
side. After doing this, process plackets as one-layer pieces.
3. Slash the allowance between notches into lower
front part’s upper edge. Neaten the edge, press it into wrong side, and then
topstitch.
4. Make one wrap on upper front part and stitch it to
lower front part. Neaten the seam and press it.
5. Stitch shoulder edges. NB: back shoulder
edge is 1 cm longer than front shoulder edge (back neckline allowance). Press
the seam backward.
6. Stitch side edges together. Neaten the seams and
press them.
7. Stitch sleeve seams, neaten them and press seams
backward.
8. Stitch sleeves into armholes coinciding notches.
Neaten the seams and press them.
9. Neaten the hem/sleeve lower edge/back neckline.
Press them into wrong side and topstitch.
